Town of Isabelle, WI Operations ordinance
Isabelle lies at the top of the Mississippi River's Lake Pepin. Their ordinance builds on ordinances developed in 2022 by a partnership of six towns including Bone Lake, Eureka, Laketown, Luck, Sterling and Trade Lake.
However, Isabelle's ordinance has more in-depth findings on recent issues now facing towns., including:
- Spread of avian flu in poultry flocks and dairy herds
- Impact to workers and local communities of avian flu
- Large expansions financed by the biogas industry using public financing to build anerobic digesters
- Plans to spread byproducts from the digesters that have with concentrated nutrient levels across the landscape
Isabelle supervisors created a study group which recommended an ordinance. The town took written comments on the recommended DRAFT ordinance and held a public hearing on the ordinance. It was passed on September 15, 2025.
